Jacob
Fuglsang Mikkelsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark
in 1972. He
studied Fine Art Photography and Print making, in
San Francisco at the Academy of Art and finished his
education at the International Center of Photography
in New York City.
This
set of portraits are called "Facials" and
are images representing a person, people or a type
of New Yorker that Jacob has encountered during his
time in New York City.The layers of paint and multimedia
is a way of expressing and describing each and every
character. They are Jacobs personal expression and
explorations of the people that crossed his path through
the
NY jungle, good or bad. What Jacob is doing to these
images is a kind of exorcism, or a bit of woodo if
you will.
